My Approach

I completed my training in Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapy. This approach is grounded in the belief that each person is unique and that therapy should never be a ‘one-size-fits-all’ process. My knowledge of multiple psychological modalities allows me to tailor the sessions to you as an individual.

The mind-body connection: Talking about our experiences is a vital part of understanding how the past has shaped the way we relate to ourselves, others, and the world. In line with current neuroscience research, working with the body can enhance the therapeutic process as it bypasses the 'thinking mind' and engages more directly with the unconscious (where many of our emotional wounds and deeply held beliefs are stored). When mind and body are integrated in this way, therapy moves beyond insight alone and enables us to make tangible and sustainable changes in our lives.

In practical terms, this means that my approach blends traditional forms of talking therapy (psychodynamic, humanistic and existential modalities) with embodied practices. These include:

  • Working with ‘parts’ (drawing from the Internal Family Systems model)

  • Gestalt techniques

  • Energy psychology and archetypal exploration

  • Dream and nightmare exploration

  • Jungian shadow work

My practice is trauma-informed and LGBTQI+ affirmative.

What does a typical session look like?

Therapy and inner work can be challenging at times, but it can also can tap into innate qualities of awe, joy and playfulness.

Whilst some sessions will be more reflective and conversational, others may focus on a particular part (e.g. your inner child), involve active somatic exploration or guided visualisations.

That said, the pace of the sessions will always be guided by what feels safe and manageable for you. I will endeavour to understand who you are and explore the approach that best supports your process.
